Shirley Phelps from the Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, Kansas gave an interview on 105.3 HotFM this morning.

Gravy and Ellen Tailor, the Hot FM DJ's interviewed, or tried to interview Phelps, and it was the most nonsensical thing I've ever heard.

Let's back up a minute.  Westboro Baptist Church is known mostly for their outrageous and outlandish picketing of groups and events such as our Military funerals.

They use signs which say, "Thank God For Dead Soldiers."  Or "God Hates Fags."  And the Supreme Court ruled that is okay.

You will find numerous articles and information on the Internet, but this has me so disgusted, I had to write.

First of all, if this Phelps woman and her church believe in God and want to spread the word of God, why at funerals?  Obviously they are so full of hate they could care less if anyone was fighting for their freedom, or their freedom of speech.

So the First Amendment protects this hate group.  What about something called "fostering hatred" which could lead to violence?  Violence from honest, law abiding citizens who are taunted and tormented at the worst time in their lives; when they are burying their children.

This situation and the Westboro Baptist Church is so wrong on so many levels.  When are we going to get back to loving thy neighbor?  Do unto others as you would have them do unto you?  I don't know much about the Bible, but those words should be added to the First Amendment.

Maybe that is a bit drastic, but the First Amendment needs amending!

You can listen to the interview of Shirley Phelps and Hot FM DJ's Gravy and Ellen at their website, 105.3hotfm.com.

Hear this Shirley Phelps, Westboro Baptist Church, and all your affiliates cronies...
Marine Lance Cpl. Matthew A. Snyder was a better man, brother, child, and human being than any of you could ever hope to be.  May he rest in peace.
