The deadline set by Congress to switch to DTV is February 17, 2009, are you ready? What is DTV? DTV is Digital Television, a new type of technology that is going to completely eliminate analog television.

Are you ready for the switch to DTV? I hope so, because television stations are instructed to turn off their analog channels on February 17, 2009. What does this mean if you are not ready for the DTV switch? You will see nothing but "snow" on your television.

So, how do you get ready for the DTV switch? You have three choices:

  1. Purchase a digital ready television
  2. Purchase a DTV converter box and keep your analog television
  3. Subscribe to cable, satellite, or other television service provider
