5 people are dead, including two Police Officers and 3 City Officials, due to a shooting that occurred at a City Council Meeting in Kirkwood, MO. Charles Lee "Cookie" Thornton was apparently upset that he lost a lawsuit against this city claiming harassment, when he went on the shooting spree Thursday, February 7, 2008.

The Mayor was listed in critical condition and a reporter was also wounded in the shootings before police finally delivered the fatal shot and took Charles Thornton out. A witness said the gunman said, "Shoot the Mayor!" as he was firing the shots.

You can read more of the story here and here.

The video below is an interview with Charles Lee "Cookie" Thornton's brother, Gerald Thornton. I understand he is a grieving brother, but his words are a little disturbing. Among some of the things he said were, his brother went to war with the people who were tormenting his life, and also that his brother needed to do what he had to do to get his point across.
